The Power of a name

This is a very welknown story about Swami Ram teerth .Once he was a guest at a king's palace and one of his devotee, a sardar stayed with him during the night time .The sardar could not sleep as there fell on his ear the chanting of RAM NAAM.[the name of Ram]He could hear it all around him ,the continuous chanting of the lord's name .

Perplexed ,he got out of the room hoping to find someone there but he soon realised that sound of the Ram chanting faded as he went further away from the room.Again he entered the place where Swami Ramteerth was sleeping and sat down near his feet and held his feet .To his surprise he experienced the RAM name from swamis feet, same experience was evoked on touching his hands too.It dawned upon the sardar that wherever he touched the saint ,the sound vibrations of RAM NAAM echoed from that part of the Swami'As body .

Swami Ramteerth woke up on being touched and found the devotee sitting dumbfounded at his bedside

He asked ''Swamiji please tell me the secretof RAM NAAM oozing from all over your body''.Swamiji smiled and said,''I have from my early childhood , continuously uttered the Lord's name and on growing up, I persued his name all the while ,so the name is submerged not only with my body and mind but also with my atman.

This is true example of devotion and sadhna for any spiritual seeker.The sardar bowed down before the Swami and said ,''You just got up from a small nap but I have woken up out of slumber of all these years

When mind and consciousness submerge together,UNION TAKES PLACE WITH THE SUPREME.Once you experience this stage ,you ae blessed with bliss where you only remain a witness
